Winter is for the birds

It is suppose to get down to -12 tonight....ug :( This kinda weather is definetly NOT for me.
This is one of the new images for the December Stamp of the Month @ From the Heart Stamps, "for the birds".

I colored it with Copics and added some Liquid Pearls to the Snowman's hat. For the snow, I used some Stickles and randomly dotted it around to look like snow falling. That's pretty much what it has done here all day. It hasn't added up to much but about an inch, I think it's too cold to snow!
I would like to enter my card @:

Keep warm and thanks for stopping!

Snowman Notebook

My friend Debbie @ The Paper Garden said, in one of her Blog Posts, that she makes cute little "Christmas Planner" note pads & gives them out to all the women at her family's Thanksgiving gathering. I thought that was such a great idea!!!
These altered notebooks are mini Composition notebooks that I got at our local Discount Store, 2 for $1. I covered them with some light blue DP & distressed the edges with some brown ink. I used Christmas Snowman by Designed2Delight.
I used my Copics, some glitter, some ribbon & a mini Christmas ornament. Cute as can be, aren't they? The notebooks are small enough to fit in your purse & big enough to use for several years. That way, you can go back & see what presents you bought, for who, & what goodies you made!

a little birdie told me...

This is the newest freebie @ Designed2Delight, "For The Birds Snowman". I may have gotten a little carried away, making this card. I think it was the marker fumes :-} Before I knew it, I was cutting tiny circles from my background paper & gluing them on Mr. Snowman's coat. It took me like, forever! That's what I like about paper crafting, for me anyway... I get totally involved in what I'm doing & all my problems disappear for a while. I even went to the kitchen & found some celery seed to glue in Frosty's hand. What fun!

You Melt My Heart!

Crafting With DeeDee's Digis Challenge

Isn't he a cute snowman? Ahh, don't feel bad, I think he liked it!
I had a lot of fun making this. I found a "candy bar holder" pattern HERE. I did some adjusting to make it fit 2 Granola Bars. I can't really tell you the measurements, cause I just kinda winged-it. :) I printed out & colored the snowman digi 3 times. The first one, I matted. The second, I cut out all the snowman accessories & adhered them on their appropriate places with dimensionals. The third digi, I cut out all the pieces & laid them around, as if he had melted. Cute huh? The sentiment, I came up with, & printed off WordPad. The holder is held closed with a Velcro Dot. This is probably my favorite snowman so far. Very well drawn, don't you think? I love his hat! I got him at Crafting With DeeDee's Digis.

Lookin' good!

My 2nd post today. Be sure to check out the other one. Kinda funny I think...
I went to a State football game a couple months ago. It was SO cold. I had, what looked like, my chore clothes on & was still a little chilly. A lot of the young girls there, were dressed so cute but looked miserably cold. I remember those days! Now, I look like somebody's hired man when I go out in the cold. Maybe that's why I'm single....humm...hadn't thought about that. I am at the age when I HATE to be cold & get crazy when I get hot. And I can do both, within just a few minutes. Hope you had a good weekend!

Wintery Color Combo

At Card Ideas, the challenge is to make a card using an image from Designed2Delight & using the colors blue, purple, & white or black. For my card, the background paper is baby blue. "Snowman Love" is mounted on navy blue & purple cardstock with glitter surrounding the image. I punched a couple of snowflakes in navy & purple, added a snowflake embellishment & the Heart & Mittens digi. Buttons are navy & purple. Some purple & white gingham ribbon, purple floss & a heart, finished it off. Sorry, my picture doesn't show the colors very well.
I heard the weather report today...more snow tonight. :(

Thank you for your kindness

It's "Let's Face It Friday" @ Peachy Keen Stamps! I have a terrible time drawing faces so, these face stamps from Peachy Keen have been a life-saver for me. The challenge this week is to make a thank you card, using one of their face stamps. I used the #PK-493 Everyday Character Face Parts stamps. To make the penguin I used a bunch of my SU! punches: body-wide oval & large oval, Wings- small oval, Head- 1-3/8" & 1" circles, Feet- Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Hat-1-3/8" circle, Scarf- 2- word windows, snowflake punch, Sentiment- Designer Label & Round Tab with Occasional Quotes sentiment all from SU!

Celebrating Winter with Stampin' Celebration!

Over at Stampin' Celebration they are celebrating winter with lots of blues, whites & snowflakes.
For my card I used "Holiday Lineup" & "Occasional Quotes" stamps, both from SU! I stamped both in Not Quite Navy. I used Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy & Marina Mist SU! markers to color the snowmen hats & scarfs. I used the Round Tab & Designer Label punches for the sentiment. I added a little Dazzling Diamonds to the pom-poms on the snowmen hats.

Another "Warm Winter Wishes"

Here is a bird that is easy to punch. Large Oval punch- body, Small oval- wing, Star punch- beak. I love using punches. The end result makes me feel so artistic, even though I'm not. :(

Warm winter wishes

I can hardly believe it! Today is December 27th & I haven't had to get my scoop shovel out yet! (I'm not complaining or anything.) I was in Denver this past week & it was like springtime!
This is the freebie "Whimsical Cardinals" from DELIGHTFUL INSPIRATION. I printed the birds out 2x's. I used my SU! markers & colored the entire image once, then on the second copy, I just colored the 2 scarfs & cut them out & glued one end (neck) onto the colored birds. Gives it a little dimension. I used the SU! Scallop circle #2 Die, Polka Dot embossing folder, my "Big Shot", Snowflake punch, SU! Big Button & "warm winter wishes" sentiment from the "More The Merrier" SU! stamp set.

Snowman Love

This is the new freebie @ Designed2Delight. Instead of using my markers, I thought I would try my Paint program on my puter. It was fun to try. I'm new to all this digital stuff, so it took me a while. I still don't have it figured out. I also have a "Gimp 2" program & I absolutely cannot figure it out. If you are familiar with that program, I could use some tips! Anyway, here's my card. I used a little glitter for the snow, punched out a gray snowflake & added glitter & a brad, added a button, cut out the gloves which was a bonus with the freebie, printed a sentiment from my puter, and lastly, I used some of my fav SU! ribbon. Check out the "clearance rack" on my Online Stampin'Up! Store. This ribbon is only $1.99 & you get 10 yards!

Winter Fun!

This week's freebie @ Delightful Inspiration is this cute Bear sliding in the snow. I colored him with my markers & added lots of glitter. I used the Top Note Die & ran it through my Big Shot in Night of Navy cardstock. Then, I did the same with a piece of patterned paper. I can't remember where I saw someone do it but I took the patterned paper Top Note, turned it & ran it through the Big Shot again. This makes a little different version & it fits perfectly inside a regular Top Note piece. FYI: I found a web site that has lots of templates that you can print off & use. Check it out. Click here>>Mirkwood Designs Hope you had a nice weekend! B.

Let's Face It Friday's- Paper Bag Challenge

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge (click HERE) is to use a paper bag & create a winter-inspired project. I purchased a set of these stamps about a week ago, because I have a terrible time drawing faces! They were all so cute, I had a hard time choosing which ones to get!
Anyway, here is my project. I must have sat & stared at that little lunch sack for an hour before I could come up with an idea! Don't you hate it when that happens? I cut about 3 or 4 inches of the top of the sack. I got the idea for the snowman @ Rose's World.
snowman- 1-3/4" & 2-1/2" circle punch
Hat- Designer Label punch, cut in half
Word Window, Itty Bitty Flower, 2-Step Bird punch (leaves)
Scarf- 1 & 1/2 Modern Label punch, 1/2" circle
Buttons- 1/2" circle
Arms- snowflake punch
Face- Peachy Keen Snow Bitty Faces
The handle on the bag, I made by gluing a piece of SU! Robin Hood Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon onto a piece of heavy cardboard. I glued the handle to the bag & attached Designer Buttons on with glue dots.

Thanks for stopping!

FYI: I have blog candy on a previous post = "Tis the Season For Giving".

Love You A Latte

I was the random winner at Delightful Inspiration & was able to pick any stamp in their digi shop!
I picked this one, "Love A Latte". I just love it!

My grandson stayed the night at my house. We got up at 5am to go shopping. It was his first Black Friday.
Thank goodness it wasn't very cold. I picked up a few things & am just about done with my Christmas shopping.

Finally feeling like November?

It's starting to feel a little wintry outside!
Here's the card I made for the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #29. Click HERE
The colors that we were to use, were tans, whites, browns...
I used "Lovely As A Tree" SU! stamp set & "Watercolor Trio" sentiment on Crumb Cake cardstock. Designer Label punch, Soft Suede cardstock, Elegant Soiree Designer Paper & then tied some SU! Rope Twine around the top of the card. I double stamped the trees. First in soft suede, then again in Whisper White, to give it that "frosty morning" look.

Skating Penguin

Here's this weeks free digi stamp from Delightful Inspiration! Go HERE & check it out.
Isn't he adorable?
I used my SU! markers, colored pencils, glitter glue & a bunch of my SU! punches on this one.
Snowflake, scallop border, 1/16" hole punch, 2-1/2" circle & 2-3/8" Scallop Circle

Be sure to check out my older posts. There is a homemade laundry soap recipe & a desk calendar that would make great gifts for Christmas. Have a great weekend.

gingerbread house

SU! Mini Milk Carton Die
Snow around house & roof- Scallop Border punch
Door- Large Oval & Scallop Oval punch
Trees & bushes- Heart to Heart punch
Wreath on door- Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack
* Don't glue box together at the top. The roof makes it impossible to open.
I filled it with candy & used a SU! 1/2" Library Clip on top.

Here it is November 16th & we STILL haven't had any snow! That has to be a record.

snowman

I found this free digital stamp @ Just 4 Fun Crafts. Click HERE to go & get it.
I used my SU! markers & colored him in Old Olive (my fav) & Cherry Cobbler.
The mittens (in case you couldn't tell what they were) are punched from the large
& small oval punches.
Every year it seems that I tend to skip Halloween & Thanksgiving & go right to Christmas.
I must admit that Christmas is my absolutely favorite holiday! I will really try to stay
focused on the upcoming Holidays...but don't hold me to it.
