Artful Delight- Card Sketch #39

Winter is for the birds

It is suppose to get down to -12 tonight....ug :( This kinda weather is definetly NOT for me.
This is one of the new images for the December Stamp of the Month @ From the Heart Stamps, "for the birds".

I colored it with Copics and added some Liquid Pearls to the Snowman's hat. For the snow, I used some Stickles and randomly dotted it around to look like snow falling. That's pretty much what it has done here all day. It hasn't added up to much but about an inch, I think it's too cold to snow!

Snowman Notebook

My friend Debbie @ The Paper Garden said, in one of her Blog Posts, that she makes cute little "Christmas Planner" note pads & gives them out to all the women at her family's Thanksgiving gathering. I thought that was such a great idea!!!
These altered notebooks are mini Composition notebooks that I got at our local Discount Store, 2 for $1. I covered them with some light blue DP & distressed the edges with some brown ink. I used Christmas Snowman by Designed2Delight.
I used my Copics, some glitter, some ribbon & a mini Christmas ornament. Cute as can be, aren't they? The notebooks are small enough to fit in your purse & big enough to use for several years. That way, you can go back & see what presents you bought, for who, & what goodies you made!

Altered Pocket Calendar

The challenge @ D2D is Anything Goes! For this Challenge I used "Potted Flowers" by D2D. I love this stamp because it is so versatile. I printed 2 copies of this image & colored them with Copics & popped-up the flowers with SU! Dimensionals.  The Pocket Calendar I purchased @ a local Craft Store for $1. I covered the calendar with some new SU! paper I just got & added some ribbon & brads. I had planned on giving this as a Christmas gift....but it may end up in my purse. ;) Thanks for stopping!

It's Debbie's Birthday Party!

The Challenge @ "Designed2Delight's Saturday DT Challenge" is "It's My Party!"
Debbie F. is Hosting this week's Challenge. Her birthday is in a few days, so her challenge to us is to make something, a card or project, that has a Birthday Party Theme!
I used the "Garden Party" image from Faith @ Designed2Delight. If you follow her Progressive Challenge, you received this image a few months ago for FREE! It's a fun image that can be used for almost anything! Check out the Store HERE.
I made a Birthday gift. A Post-It Note Holder with Matching Pen.
Here's how I made it:
Score a 11 x 4-1/4" piece of cardstock @ 2-3/4, 5-1/2" & fold.
Score a 2 x 2 1/2" piece of cardstock @ 1/2, 1, 1-1/2 & 2" & fold to create the pen holder. Glue it all together & decorate.
For the pen, buy any see-through pen. Remove ink cartridge. Roll a piece of matching Designer paper & insert into pen. Replace ink cartridge & there you have it! How fun is that?
I hope you join us for our "It's My Party!" Challenge & please check out D2D for more inspiration from our creative DT !

Fresh Cut by Designed2Delight!

This is "Fresh Cut", this week's Free image by Faith @ Designed2Delight! If you did not play along last week and receive this image in your inbox, you can purchase it in the digi shop and play along to receive the next freebie!
I made a Gift Set of cards with the "Fresh Cut" image. I tried to make them CAS, so that they wouldn't cost extra to mail.. The vases have a clear coat of "Crystal Effects" on them.  I added a little glitter to the flower centers & some of the hearts.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you join us @ Designed2Delight for our Challenges & more inspiration. Check them out HERE.

Going Buggy!

The Challenge @ Designed2Delight is Going Buggy! Use a bug somewhere on your project.
For my project, I used the image Garden Party by Faith @ Designed2Delight. I didn't realize, when I took this picture, that you can hardly see the bumble bee! I would retake the pic but I already sent them off to my Mom. I made about 10 of these, for her to give to her friends. My Mom is 84 & still plays golf twice a week!
I made a matchbook & altered it a bit. I punched a couple holes for the tees to set in. I added a little golf ball by punching a 1/2" circle & using a polka dot embossing folder. Before gluing the golf balls down, I flipped them over, so that inverted side of the polka dots is showing. I also inked the edges slightly in green.
A very easy, inexpensive & thoughtful gift.
Be sure to check out Designed2Delight for more inspiration!

I also want to point out that I did some sewing on my card & tag! (You all are such a bad influence on me.) Before you know it, I'll be in the kitchen, cooking again! Gads! :)
