Hambo Sketch

At the Hambo Hoedown, the Challange is a Sketch:
My card uses the image and sentiment, Dr Needle by Hambo Stamps.
I thought I might need a few extra Get Well cards around, since they are forcasting a very cold winter here. It's pretty darn cold here this morning!
I used 5 different pattern papers from a paper pack from The Paper Studio. I colored the image with Copics and punched it out with a SU! 2-1/2" circle punch.

Hambo's Time Machine Blog Hop

Welcome to "Hambo's Time Machine" sponsored by Hambo Stamps! Today Hambo friends and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you fun creations that depict something cool from the 1980's! It might be our favorite book, something in the news then, a fashion fad, a song, or something that really stuck out to us in looking back. If you arrived here from Jeannie's Blog, you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start back at the beginning at the Hambo blog to make sure you are eligible for the hopper prize!

A prize will be awarded to one participant whose time machine creation tickles the Bacon Bits’ fancy in a hammin’ jammin’ way! Another prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all of the blogs along the way. The winners will be announced on the Hambo company blog, Talk to the Ham, on Wednesday, September 25, as well as at the Hambo Hoedown challenge blog. We love comments anytime, but the deadline for prize entry comments is Sunday, September 22 at 5 PM CST. Don't miss it!

Here's my creation...
Remember that song "Hello" from the 80's by Lionel Richie? I always loved that song! When I listen to it now, I realize the guy in the song is..like...a stalker! LOL
Anyway, one of my favorite images from Hambo Stamps is Silly Birds With Hats. For my card I removed their hats and colored them with Copics to look like Mallard Ducks.

The first time I saw the Silly Birds With Hats stamp it made me laugh...and it sill does! I love the way the bird in the middle is peeking out around the others. I have used this image many times for different occasions...birthday, congrats, friendship... My card measures 6x6. I can't tell you where my paper came from. They were some scraps I had tucked away.
 Here's the inside:

I need to get back home to see my Mom before winter. I thought this would be a great card to send to her.
I hope you enjoyed my card as much as I have! Thanks for stopping. Stop again sometime!
Now swing on over to Jenn's for another great trip back to the 80's that will jog your memory -- or show you something you missed!

Wee Henrietta

This is Wee Henrietta by Hambo Stamps...free if you play along with their Challenge at The Hambo Hoedown. They have a freebie available in their Shop, just to get you started.
Their Challenge this week is to POP UP your design with dimension. Lucky me, that's one of my favorite things to do! lol I colored an extra bag of popcorn and a bow that is in her hair. I popped them up using "dimensionals" by SU!  I added some freckles, some earrings (a girl's gotta have earrings!) and some purple stringy yarn for her shoe laces. Henrietta came with several sentiments. I had trouble deciding but finally went with, " Everything is better if you can share it with a friend."  Ain't that the truth!
I followed the Sketch at Catch the Bug Challenge.
Check back here this Friday. The Hambo Hoedown is having a 80's Time Machine Blog Hop!

Hamster Heart

This is Hamster Heart this week's freebie at The Hambo Hoedown...don't you just love that title? LOL
When my son was about 3, we had a hamster. My son named him, "Frankie to the hamster". Unusual name but that's what he called him. LOL We loved that little thing. Except our dog, all he could think about was eating it. The way I colored the hamster, I think he might look more like a guinea pig...we had one of those too!
The Challenge this week is to use decorative scissors. Gads! I always hated those things! I could never get them lined up correctly. Anyway, I dug around and found a pair. I trimmed the top of the cupcake paper. I paper-pieced the hamsters shirt and popped-up the little heart in the center. I added some ribbon and a little glitter on the small cupcake cut-out that came with the image.

Camera Guy

My pic is a little blurry for some reason. I had a heck of a time with this card. I missed getting the last freebie from Hambo Stamps because I was working and then had to take off to go see the Grandkids for the Holiday weekend. Had a great time! We went to The State Fair and I got to see "Chicago" and "Lynyrd Skynyrd" in concert!
Anyway, the Challenge at The Hambo Hoedown is Shades of pink, yellow and gray. I guess they must not be my favorite colors because I really had to dig to find some paper that would fit.

I used Camera Guy and sentiment from Hambo Stamps. The camera shape came from The Cutting Cafe. I added some yellow ribbon, film strip washi tape, a camera brad and a gray rhinestone to the camera lens.
The pic of the inside of my card is blurry too... :(  But it is pretty IRL! lol

School Dog

This is School Dog, this week's freebie at the Hambo Hoedown. It came with several sentiments. I used "Have an A+ day!"
The Challenge at The Hoedown is to create a project that is school-themed. I decided to make my grandkids some bookmarkers. Both of them love to read! I think school would have been so much easier for me if I had liked to read. It wasn't until I started reading to my son when he was little, that I began to not only love to read but also comprehend what I read!
My bookmarkers are 6x3". I added background paper ( Katie loves peace signs and tie-die.), and a library card with their names on them. I colored the cute little School Dog image with Copics, punched a hole and tied on some ribbons.

I put some Clear Craft Lacquer on the dogs glass len's...lol

Hard Hat Area

Life can be a "hard hat area" sometimes. I slipped and fell down yesterday and can hardly move today. I don't bounce like I used to!
I made this card for the Hambo Hoedown Challenge. I used Carpenter, this week's free image. It came with several cute sentiments.
I colored him with Copics and used 3 different patterned papers. When I colored his shirt, I tried to copy the green/blue paper.
The Challenge at Hambo Hoedown is to create a project that uses something that a Carpenter would use. I used some stickers that I had.

Send in the Clowns

This is this week's free image at The Hambo Hoedown called "Clowns". It came with several sentiments to choose from. I love clowns. They remind me of when I was a kid. I am going to use this card at work for someone's birthday. Not sure who yet. Every month I make cards for those in my Dept. that are having birthdays. I get everyone to sign it and then we have cake that day too. Some people get real creeped-out about clowns. I will have to make sure that this person isn't one of those people!
The Challenge at The Hambo Hoedown is to use 3 different patterned papers. I printed the image on white cardstock and then colored it with Copics. Then I printed it out again and paper-pieced the outside edge and the small balloon.
I punched out a few bigger balloons, added some bows and then popped everything up with some foam tabs.

One-eyed monster

This week's freebie at The Hambo Hoedown, is "One-Eyed Monster". The Challenge is to use Eyelets on your project.
I colored it with Copics and punched it out with a 2-1/2" circle SU! punch, letting his tail extend outside the circle.
The Monster came with several sentiments and I chose to use, "Eye Love you!"
I used some coordinating paper by The Paper Studio. I punched out the sentiment using Modern Label Ex Lrg Punch and added a couple of eyelets and twine. I found a googly eye that I had left over from a Halloween project and glued it over his drawn eye. I love the way it swirls around when you shake the card a little bit! lol
Thanks for stopping!

Wee Henry Moon

This week's free image at The Hambo Hoedown is Wee Henry Moon! (It came with several sentiments)
I covered the front of my card & paper-pieced Henry's cap & jammies, with Everyday Enchantment by SU!
I applied some Puffy Paint to the moon & used some Stickles to the stars, the pom-pom on his hat, and part of his slippers.
He is so cute. I think this would make a nice Baby Shower card.

Dr. Needle

I had to make a birthday card for another friend at work. I work in a factory and we make syringes, so I just love this digi (and sentiments) by Hambo Stamps! Anyway, this Co-worker is a Former Operator and runs a machine that forms the glass syringes. A tricky job..I know... I've tried it!
I colored the digi with Copics and used some Clear Craft Lacquer on the syringe to make it look like glass. The Challenge @ The Hambo Hoedown this week, is to use office supplies on your project. I used my stapler around the corners and added a paper clip.
Thanks for stopping and have a great week!
